Srinagar, Sep 17 : A teenage girl lost her life while five others sustained injuries after an accident in Jogilanker Rainawari area ofCentral Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday afternoon.
Officials told news agency that the mishap involved an Eco vehicle bearing registration number DL CAS 1744, driven by Mohammad Ismail Paloo, son of Mohammad Khalil, resident of Kalwal Mohalla Rainawari.
The injured were shifted to JLNM Hospital, where one of the victims, identified as Madiha, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Gurpora, aged around 15 years, succumbed to her injuries. Her body was later handed over to the family after legal formalities, they said.
The injured have been identified as Halima (55) of Nowgam with minor injuries, Amina (57) of Noorbagh with leg injury, Neelofar (47) of Nehru Park with head and hand injuries, Gulshana (45) of Rainawari with spinal injury, and Bashir Ahmad Gagroo (65) of Illahibagh Soura. They were shifted to different hospitals including SMHS, SKIMS, and B&J Hospital for treatment.
Police have registered a case at Police station and initiated further investigation.
