Reasi, May 21: District Police Reasi conducted a major strike on illicit liquor manufactures as well as smugglers and arrested 36 bootleggers, destroyed 6000 liters of Lahan, and seized more than 150 liters of Hooch in the last 36 hours, 33 new cases FIR’s are registered in six police stations of district Reasi. This raw liquor had the potential of preparing 2000 liters of hooch. Teams of Police Station Arnas Conducted a series of raids in the Arnas area in which 16 bootleggers got arrested, for which FIR NO. 33 to 48/2021 registered under the Excise Act against the criminals. Accused arrested are Krishan Singh S/O Dharam Singh R/O Thanole, Updesh Singh S/O Bikru R/O Arnas, Kuldeep Singh S/O Ram Saran R/O Chakalwala Thanool, Sukhdev Singh S/O Suba Ram R/O Lada Thanool, Seta Ram S/O Sarwan R/O Sawla Kote, Romesh Chand S/O Prem Chand R/O Kanthi Arnas, Prem Singh S/O Moti Ram R/O Matelote, Geta Devi D/O Basant Ram R/O Kanthan Arnas, Suneeta Devi W/O Kaku Ram R/O Kanthan Arnas, Angrez Singh S/O Punjab Singh R/O Kanthan Arnas, Jagdish Singh S/O Beer Singh R/O Duga Arnas, Baldev Singh S/O Sarwan Mal R/O Jij Kaseeri, Mopha Ram S/O Napha R/o Dhanour Arnas.
In Sub-Division Reasi, series of raids were conducted in Salal, Bhomag, Dera Baba, Talwara, Pouni, and Bhambla area and arrested 16 bootleggers with illicit liquor in which FIR NO. 102 to 111/2021 under 48(a)(e) Excise Act are registered in Police Station Reasi.
Accused Charan Singh S/O Baldev, Gulvinder Singh S/O Baldev Singh, Surjeet Singh S/O Gulvinder Singh R/O Bhabber Brahma, Trilok Chand S/O Ram Saran R/O Tanda Reasi, Chutki S/O Hans Raj R/O Bhabber, Khreb Singh S/O Sansar Chand R/O Surjan Dhar, Puran Singh S/O Rocky Ram R/O Prankot Tehsil Thakra Kote A/P Migrant colony camp Talwara, Lal Singh S/O Dharam Singh Rajput R/O Kanthi Pallad Tehsil Thooru A/P Migrant colony camp Talwara, Raj Kumar S/O Sansar Chand R/O Surjan Dhar Tehsil Bhomag, Jagdish Singh S/O Sansar Chand R/O Surjan Dhar Tehsil Bhamag. Kuldeep Singh S/O Gulab Singh R/O Salal Khad, Kulla Devi W/O Punjab Singh R/O Salal Khad & Mohan Singh S/O Charn Dass Thakur R/O Sarotkot are arrested. Whereas in Police station Pouni FIR No. 22, 23 and 24 of 2021 are registered under Excise Act and arrested three bootleggers namely Karan Singh S/O Hem Singh R/O Bullion Pouni, Ratan Singh S/O Chattu Ram R/O Bharkh Pouni, Kali Dass S/O Sita Ram R/O Bhambla.In Mahore and Chassana area FIR No. 16, 23 & 24 have been lodged under Excise Act against three criminals namely Jarnail Singh S/O Baldev Singh R/O Chassana, Kamlesh Singh S/O Dewan Singh R/O Mahore, and Baljeet Singh S/O Puran Singh R/O BathoieFurthermore, one FIR NO. 84/2021 is registered under Excise Act against Raghubir Singh S/O Bachiter Singh R/O Katra. The operation was launched under the banner “EK YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” under the Supervision of SSP Reasi Sh. Shailender Singh in every nook and corner of District Reasi for the last 36 hours in which Lahan was destroyed, illegal distilleries were destroyed and Illicit liquor Seized.
Peoples of Reasi particularly women appreciated the efforts of the Reasi Police in taking action against illicit liquor vendors on such a large scale which leads to the curb of the menace of illicit liquor in the area.
Reasi Police has registered 59 cases against 76 offenders in Excise Act and NDPS Act in the last two months.
