Brother-in-law of Syed Ali Geelani passes away at SKIMS Soura

Srinagar, May 20: Haji Mukhtar Ahmad Makhdoomi, brother-in-law of former Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani died on Thursday. He breathed his last in the wee hours of Thursday morning at SKIMS, Soura. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), born on April 15, 1927, at Tujar Sharief, Makhdoomi did his Matric from Lahore University with distinction. He joined the Education department in 1945 and served the department till 1982. According to the family sources, he has remained as Imam, Khateeb Jamia Tujar Sharief for a long period of 30 years. Makhdoomi has never been sick or felt any ailment during his life period excepting the last six days. He remained in full senses till his last breath. He was very simple, noble, and God-fearing. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, they said—(KNO)
