Tral, 26 May: The workers of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme in the Tral area of Pulwama district on Wednesday staged a silent protest demanding the release of all pending salaries.
A group of “helper to supervisor” workers assembled near Dilnag park in uptown Trial today and staged a sit-in here in support of their demands, including the release of three years pending salary.
One of the workers said that their monthly salary is 2500 rupees only, but govt has failed to release their salaries for three years, due to which workers are suffering.”
She said that all such workers play an important role in Anganwadis and other departmental projects like pulse polio immunization programs and Covid-19 duties, however, their demands are yet to be fulfilled.
Another worker said that she is facing hardships and rued that she “does laborer work” to feed her family.
The workers have unanimously requested higher-ups to look into the matter and release all their pending salaries at the earliest.
