Nidae KashmirIn this vast but finite world
While treverssing on the vehicle of life
My eyes have deeply beholden, that
Someone dwells as if in heaven.
Worldly comforts and luxuries
Natural elegance of the planet
Varied flora and fauna of globe
Innumerable colourful flowers
Infinite multicolored chirping birds
Do please him, lessen his melancholy
And make an end of his gloom.
But for an unlucky and ill-fated one
All these sources of –
Bliss, comfort, tranquility, and contentment
Are trifling, tawdry, grimcrack, trashy and shoddy.
As he is ill-treated, tormented, brutalized
Agonized, victimized and mishandled
Within his own four walls
By his kinsfolk, consanguinean and flesh
For whom he spends sleepless nights
Toils hard through arduous paths
And himself lives miserably and austerily.
