Nidae KashmirAwareness/ plant sapling distribution held at GGHSS Kulgam
KULGAM, MARCH 26: An Awareness program cum plant sapling distribution camp under Green J&K Drive was today organized by Special Forest Division Kulgam at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Kulgam.
Divisional Forest Officer, Syed Wasim (SFS) apprised the students about the Biodiversity, Forest and Climate Change consequences of forest degradation and the importance of conservation besides propagation of forests.
Further, the officer said that this year on International Forest Day which was celebrated with the theme ‘Forest restoration a path to recovery and well-being’, plantation drives were conducted in different Forest Ranges of Kulgam, and these plantation drives will continue till 31st March 2021 in order to make Kulgam Green.
On the occasion, plant saplings were also distributed among the students to be planted at their respective home places under the slogan ‘One Child One Tree’.
