Nidae KashmirANANTNAG, JANUARY 17: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad today chaired a meeting for discussing cases related to Forest Rights Act 2006.
A total of 83 cases were deliberated upon during the meeting. After thorough deliberations, 70 cases were cleared while 13 were referred back to the Sub-Divisional Committees.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that the act has proved instrumental in granting individual and community rights to genuine beneficiaries who rely on forests for their livelihood.
The meeting was attended by SDMs, ACD, officials from the Forest Department among others. (Info)
