Kupwara, Jan 3 : A 30-year-old individual died and another was hospitalised after the duo reportedly slipped and fell down into a deep gorge in Tumnard forest area in Batpora Haihama in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports reaching the news agency said that two persons Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Aziz Mir and Jaffar Ahmad Khan, son of Liyaqat Ali Khan had gone to the forest area to collect firewood and during the course of time slipped and fell down into a deep gorge. The duo suffered critical injuries and were evacuated to SDH Kupwara, where one Mushtaq Ahmad was declared as brought dead on arrival.
The other injured person after initial treatment was referred to a Srinagar hospital for preferential treatment.
It has been in the meantime learnt that the police has taken cognizance into the incident and started investigations to ascertain the facts. (GNS)
