SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Prominent Social Activist-Trade Union Leader M Altafdar Rajbagh in a statement issued here has said the UTJ&K State Government/LG Administration to keep ration shops & fair price shops, Mandatory open on sunday to ensure safe distribution of both subsidised and free foodgrains to the poor,govt employees,business man,private employees available on sunday at homes.
An advisory in this regard should be issued by the Food & Consumer Affairs Department UTs j&k,ration shops’& fair price shops in order to beneficiaries get time on sunday to lift their entitled foodgrains preferably on sunday of the month,”M Altafdar Rajbagh said in a statement in order to minimise hardships being faced by these beneficiaries.
M Altafdar Rajbagh has requested LG Shri Manoj Sinha to issue an order to keep the ration shops open/fair price shops for distribution of foodgrains under the NFSA as well as PMGKAY scheme to facilitate & has requested to ensure also that FPSs as foodgrains are covered under essential items, it added.
Further, M Altafdar Rajbagh has asked food consumer & affairs department to take necessary steps in the interest of general public for distribution of foodgrains at their ration depos/FPSs without causing hardships to the beneficiaries prefably on sunday to give wide publicity to the measures undertaken in this regard.
