Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substances

sopore In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Post Watergam headed by IC PP Watergam PSI Ashiq Mansoor under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Dr. Hilal Ahmad Hilal-JKPS and SHO PS Dangiwacha Insp. Jan Mohammad at a checkpoint established at Hib Dangerpora Crossing, intercepted two persons who tried to flee from the spot but were caught tactfully by alert nafri.

During their search, 200 tablets of VIZOLAM 0.5, 90 tablets of TOPOLEN 100 were recovered from Musaib Bashir Lone S/O Bashir Ahmad Lone R/O Wadoora Payeen and 24 capsules of Spam Pain Plus, 269 tablets of CLONAZEPAM were recovered from Umar Bashir Zargar S/O Bashir Ahmad Zargar R/O Behrampora Rafiabad. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to PS Dangiwacha where they remain in custody.

In this connection, case FIR No. 15 of 2024 under 8/21 section of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha & investigation has been initiated.

Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.

General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.“`
