Visits Awantipora; Meets delegations, individuals, distributes sport kits, Domicile & income certificates, wheel chairs, hearing aids among beneficiaries
PULWAMA, OCTOBER 20- Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today said that ‘My Town My Pride’ is a movement towards transforming towns and cities into model entities adding that welfare of common people is the priority of present dispensation.
The Advisor stated this while participating in My Town My Pride programme at Town Hall, Awantipora.
Advisor said that ‘My Town My Pride’ is aimed at to improve service delivery and redress the public grievances within the shortest possible time and achieve cent percent saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes. He added that the purpose behind this unique initiative is to strengthen the roots of good governance in J&K and empower the common people besides giving direction to new governance model in entire Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit, Advisor Bhatnagar inspected the stalls at Town Hall Awantipora, installed by different departments and enquired about the grievances redressal mechanism being adopted by them to satisfy the public aspirations.
On the occasion, the Advisor interacted with the people in the Town Hall and listened to their issues and grievances.
A delegation from Awantipora Town raised the issue of beautification of town, rehabilitation of land owners, establishment of Trauma center, choking of drains, macadamization of internal roads and up gradation of PHC hospital whereas a delegation from Letpora demanded settlement of land records.
Similarly a delegation from traders fraternity demanded proper drinking water facility besides a community centre for town while as a delegation of business community demanded sanctioning of Community hall and beautification of town besides expeditious completion of AIIMS in Awantipora.
Advisor gave patient hearing to all the delegations and assured them that their issues will be examined for an early redressal.
Meanwhile, Advisor Bhatnagar distributed sports kits among the school children as well as income and domicile certificates among the beneficiaries. He also distributed cheques under PMAY and NULM among the identified beneficiaries.
Advisor also handed over Baby Kits to newly born girl children under BBBP besides distributing sanction letters under Ladli Beti Scheme. He also distributed wheel chairs, hearing aids, walking sticks among the persons with disabilities.
Later, Advisor reviewed the developmental scenario of Awantipora Subdivision wherein Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora apprised him regarding issues like AIIMS, languishing projects, flagship programmes, National Saffron Mission besides other issues related to infrastructural development of the area.
District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Dr Rahgav Langer, SSP Awantipora, ADC Awantipora besides other district officers were also present on the occasion.
