Inspects Badibera bridge, presides over FRA Workshop

KUPWARA, MARCH 29: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Imam Din today visited various areas of Lolab sub division including Badibera to take stock of the situation arising due to incessant rains from yester night.

The DC inspected Badibera Bridge, one Pier of which was damaged due to flash flood in the Lolab River. He directed the concerned Executive Engineer to immediately ensure repairs to the bridge as soon as water level recedes.

Meanwhile, the DC directed for diversion of traffic so that people do not face any inconvenience. Sub Divisional Magistrate, Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer PMGSY and other concerned were present at the occasion.

Earlier, the DC visited Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel Goose and presided over a workshop on Forest Rights. The DDC member, Kalaroos, Ghulam Mustafa Deedad was also present at the occasion.

Addressing the workshop, the Deputy Commissioner said that training under Forests Rights Act has already been given to the field functionaries which have been percolated down to the various levels including Panchayat Level Forest Rights Committee. He stressed for sensitization of all stakeholders so that the Forest Rights Act could be implemented in a better way.

The DC also inspected the landslide near the Hostel.
