Tarathpora Ramhall shopkeepers’ stage protest block road after burglars loot 8 shops

Kupwara, march 31: Annoyed shopkeepers Wednesday blocked the main road in the Tarathpora Ramhall area of Kupwara district after burglars looted eight shops in the main market.

The incident occurred during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

The protesting shopkeepers told that thieves broke the locks of the 8 shops and looted cash and goods.

Meanwhile, The shopkeepers as a mark of protest didn’t open their shops, blocked the road, and disrupted vehicular movement.

“This is not the first incident of theft in Ramhall but in past several shops were looted and still the culprits are untraced,” said a shopkeeper.

When contacted SHO Villgam told that a formal case has been registered and investigation has been set into motion. He said those responsible for the theft will be identified and booked under law.
