DC presided over a function at Devsar, listens to public

Programme witnesses massive public participation

KULGAM, APRIL,07:The District Administration Kulgam today organised Mega Block Diwas at 3 blocks of the district to take an appraisal of the people’s issues, grievances and demands.

During the mega Block Diwas, functions were held at Devsar, Kulgam and D.H.Pora blocks of the district. Officers and officials from line departments listened to issues, grievances and demands of the people for timely redressal at all three venues.

Meanwhile, to take first-hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat remained available at Block Complex Devsar, where he listened to grievances and issues of people for redressal.

People from all over the areas which include, Kund, Sopat, Devsar, and other areas apprised Deputy Commissioner about various issues and put forth their demand for redressal.

Locals put forth their issues which includes macadamization of roads, augmentation of drinking water supply and electricity, desilting of irrigation canals, better health care facilities, fencing of School at Devsar, the establishment of Fire station, Separate Medical Health Block for Devsar and other issues of public importance.

Onspot directions were passed by the Deputy Commissioner for early redressal of various issues and grievances moreover several issues were also redressed on spot by the Deputy Commissioner.

He also directed the officers and officials of all departments to remain available for the public at all times to mitigate the issues of the public on priority.

The Deputy Commissioner also urged people to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs and take the COVID-19 vaccine.

He added that about 60 vaccination centres across the district have been established and people above the age of 45 shall get vaccinated at the earliest which is imperative and will prove a key source in defeating the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Present on the occasion were, District Development Council members from Devsar A, B and Kund Constituencies, BDC and other PRI members.

Besides Additional Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar, CMO, BMO, BDO’s and other officers and a large number of general public participated in the programme.
