Fisheries degree holders seek job policy

Srinagar, Oct 01: Scores of graduate, post graduate and PhDs in Fisheries stream staged a protest in Press Enclave here on Thursday to demand an exclusive job policy for qualified aspirants in the subject.

The protesting aspirants were aghast over what they said was injustice with them, as no posts have been announced in the Fisheries Department since 2017.

They said, “Even in 2017 only six posts were announced, where even graduates and post graduates in Zoology subject were made eligible, raising the number of eligible candidates to thousands”.

“We are jobless despite being highly qualified in the subject, while matric pass and 10+2 candidates have been adjusted in the department,” said Uzair Shafiq one of the PG aspirants from Shopian.

Another aspirant Umar Rasool from Qazi Gund said, “There is no Gazetted post in the department, where we could fit for recruitment.”

“Last time government had proposed that they will recruit us as Rehbar e Machli Palan, but the Finance department did not give the approval for these posts”, he said.

The protestors demanded and exclusive job policy for graduate, post graduate and PHD aspirants.

The government should make an advertisement at the earliest, exclusive for the aspirants qualified in the subject. (KDC)
