Srinagar, July 14 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta has expressed happiness to his appointment as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, calling it both an honour and a responsibility.
Speaking to reporters, Gupta said, “It’s a moment of happiness and a new challenge for me. I want to thank the President, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister, because of whom I am getting this opportunity to serve here.”
His appointment comes after the President of India accepted the resignation of Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Gupta, a senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister of the J&K, will now assume the charge of the Ladakh UT in the coming days. (JKNS)
