Arrangements for Maha Dynashwar (Chota Amarnath) Yatra 2025 reviewed at Bandipora

DC emphasizes inter-departmental coordination to ensure comprehensive arrangements
BANDIPORA, AUGUST 02: In view of the forthcoming Maha Dynashwar (Chota Amarnath) Yatra 2025, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness and make necessary arrangements for the smooth and safe conduct of the religious pilgrimage scheduled to be held on August 09.
It was informed that the one-day Yatra covers a distance of approximately 15 kilometers through the Arin-Dardpora-Shampthan route, culminating at the sacred Chota Amarnath Cave.
During the meeting, DC emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure comprehensive arrangements including security, medical care, transportation, sanitation, lighting, and communication.
On the occasion, DC directed the Health department to establish medical camps along the route and conduct pre-departure health screenings for all pilgrims. He urged the Police department to ensure adequate deployment for security and crowd management, while the communication wing was instructed to facilitate seamless information flow and emergency response services.
During the meeting, Qadri urged the concerned to ensure the installation of solar lighting systems along the Yatra route to enhance visibility and safety.
DC said that the district administration is committed to providing all necessary facilities to the pilgrims and emphasized that no compromise would be made on the safety and comfort of the devotees.
The meeting was attended by ACR, ACD, CPO, officers from 14 RR, JKP and other senior officers from concerned departments, along with representatives from civil society and local communities.
