Bandipora :Nehru Yuva Kendra Baramulla, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India organised Block level Sports tournament.
The tournament was kicked off here at Sports Ground Sumbal Bandipora.
A number of teams associated with various Youth Clubs participated in the tournament which witnessed competition of Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Football, Long Race and High Jump.
Dr Arshad Hussain Reshi graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Shri Irfan Ali Prominent Social Activist, Shri Arshad Hussain Mir, Shri Faizan Manzoor, Shri Murtaza Ali were Guests of Honours.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Arshad Hussain expressed her happiness over organising the sports event at Khore.
He assured players and sports enthusiasts that people will witness massive development of sports infrastructure in the district in near future.
Shri Irfan Ali, in his motivating address, said that Physical activity plays an important part in the overall development of youth. He further exhorted the students to make sports an important and integral part of their lives.
Shri Faizan Manzoor assured full support to the participants in honing their sports skills. He also offered his best wishes to all the participants for the tournament and encouraged them to deliver their best performance and earn a good name.
The event saw active and enthusiastic participation from different villages of the Block.
