BUDGAM, JUNE 27: A mega awareness programme as part of Dharti Aaba Abhiyan was conducted today at Village Ringzabal, a tribal village under Block Sukhnag in district Budgam.
The event witnessed the active participation of various line departments, besides enthusiastic involvement of the local tribal community.
On the occasion, Gram Sabha sessions were held during which representatives from all concerned departments explained the eligibility criteria, benefits, and procedures of their respective schemes to the participants, while also collecting feedback from them to bridge the existing coverage gaps.
Gram Sabha witnessed significant public participation, especially from the tribal population, who expressed appreciation for such grassroots-level initiatives that bring governance closer to the people. The sessions facilitated on-spot registrations for major welfare schemes including PMAY-G (housing), Kisan Credit Cards, Swadesh Darshan Guest Homes, HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme), Jal Jeevan Mission (FHTCs), and PMJAY Health Cards.
The event was further enriched by cultural performances such as Gojri folk music, which highlighted the importance of preserving tribal identity, culture, and traditions. These performances added a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere to the awareness drive.
Locals of the area expressed gratitude to district administration, and Rural Development department Budgam, for their proactive role in organizing such a comprehensive awareness campaign in the village.
