Ganderbal Jul 2 : At least four persons sustained injuries—one of them critically, after a collision between a Tata Mobile and a Tempo Traveller on the Srinagar-Leh Highway near Masjid Mode in the Sumbal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

According to locals, the accident involved a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK16B-1668 and a Tempo Traveller (JK11B-3715). The two vehicles collided head-on, triggering panic among commuters and passersby.

All four injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that one of the injured is in critical condition and has been referred to Srinagar for advanced care.

The incident disrupted traffic for a brief period, with long queues forming on the busy highway before normalcy was restored.

A police official said that cognizance of the incident has been taken and a case has been registered. “Both vehicles involved in the collision have been seized, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident,” the official added. (CNS)
