Huge Stock of Medicines Worth Lakhs Found Dumped in Forest Canal at Gundrehman Ganderbal, Authorities Begin Investigation

Ganderbal 28 June 2025: In an alarming incident, a significant quantity of medicines valued in lakhs was discovered dumped in a forest canal in the Gundrehman area of Ganderbal

The shocking discovery was made by locals, who noticed boxes and strips of medicines scattered in the canal. They promptly called editor in chief The kashmir Script about the matter.

After watched our recent live story, team from the Drug Control Department Ganderbal arrived at the site and carried out a detailed inspection.

Inspector drug controller bilal ahmad while talking to “The kashmir Script,“We have initiated an investigation. Samples have been collected, and efforts are underway to trace the origin of these medicines. Action will be taken against those found guilty,” he said

This illegal dumping has raised serious concerns regarding the negligence in handling expired or surplus medicines, posing threats to both the environment and public health.

Locals expressed anger and demanded a comprehensive probe into the incident. “This is not just the loss of expensive medicines but a major risk to our environment and drinking water sources,” Said locals while talking to The kashmir Script.
