The Indian Railways today conducted a trial run of the Vande Bharat Express train from Katra to Budgam district, which passed through the world’s highest Chenab Bridge before reaching Kashmir. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express train in next month.
This marks the first time in history that the restive valley has been connected by a direct train from New Delhi. The train is expected to boost tourism and trade in the region.
