Major Crackdown in Budgam: Police Attach Properties of Pakistan-Based Terror Handlers

Budgam, July 16, 2025- CNS:-In a major crackdown on terror operatives and their support networks, Budgam Police has attached three properties linked to Pakistan-based terrorist handlers affiliated with the outfit JKNOP. The properties, located in Khag, Chewa Beerwah, and Harwani Khansahib, were attached in the presence of concerned Executive Magistrates as part of a sustained operation against terrorism in the region.
The action has been taken in connection with FIR No. 58/2024 registered under sections 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act and 18, 20, 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Khag. Proceedings under Section 25 of UAPA were initiated for the attachment of properties used for terrorist activities.
The attached properties belong to the following accused persons, currently operating from across the border in Pakistan:
Manzoor Ahmad Chopan alias Rayees, son of Gh. Mohi-ud-din Chopan, a resident of Harwani Khansahib – owner of a double-storied residential house at village Harwani Khansahib, Budgam (Khasra No. 763).
Mohammad Yousuf Malik alias Molvi, son of Ab. Rahim Malik, a resident of Chewa Budgam – owner of a double-storied house and 5 Kanals, 13 Marlas of land at village Chewa Budgam (Khasra No. 151).
Bilal Ahmad Wani alias Umer, son of Gh. Ahmad Wani, resident of Nagbal Khag – owner of 19.5 Marlas of land at Khag (Khasra Nos. 1093 and 1094).
These individuals have been actively involved in planning, orchestrating, and facilitating terrorist activities in the region from across the border, posing a significant threat to regional peace and security
