Residents of Patil Bagh Pampore Take Initiative for Road Construction Amid Official Inaction

Pulwama, July 30: Patil Bagh in Pampore have begun the construction of a vital link road on their own, citing years of official negligence. The locals arranged machinery and resources themselves to begin the long-pending demand.

For the past two years, the residents have been demanding the construction of a connecting road to ease their daily commute. Due to the absence of a direct link, they are forced to travel nearly two kilometers to cross the National Highway — a situation that has caused significant hardship, especially for women and children.

A team led by the Tehsildar Pampore visited the site and took stock of the situation. After assessing the locals’ initiative, the administration requested a two-day grace period to respond to the matter.

Several women participated in a peaceful protest, voicing their frustration and highlighting the difficulties faced by the community in the absence of proper road connectivity. The residents urged the authorities to take immediate steps to complete the road construction officially and relieve them of their suffering.
