Srinagar, July 2, 2025: Yasir Mandoo, Youth President of Congress Srinagar, has strongly condemned the recent opening of a wine shop in the busy Batmaloo market, calling the decision “condemnable” and urging authorities to reconsider.
In a statement shared on social media, Mandoo criticized the government’s move, highlighting the contradiction it presents amid ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. “While the government is making efforts to curb the drug menace in J&K, allowing liquor outlets in busy markets sends a contradictory and harmful message,” he said.
