28 shops gutted in Midnight Blaze in Baba Reshi

Srinagar, April 04:Atleast twenty-Eight shops were gutted in Midnight blaze in the Baba Reshi area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

An official told GNS that during midnight fire that erupted in the BabarReshi Market engulfed at least twenty-eight shops.

Three shops were saved due to the efforts of the Police and Locals.

Meanwhile, locals told GNS that they acknowledged the prompt response and hectic efforts of the Baramulla police. They were however peeved at the tardiness of the F&ES deptt and demanded setting up of local station fire protection of the shrine.

Meanwhile, a police officer told GNS that police appreciated the role of locals, especially management of the shrine for helping in dousing off the fire. Also police have initiated an investigation about the cause fire in this incident.(GNS)
