92% of employees believe India suffers from skills gap: Study

CHENNAI: Indian employees understand the importance of professional development better than their global peers and expect employers to support them on their upskilling journey, a recent global study has shown.
The study found 92% of employees in India believe that there is a skills gap in the country and around two-thirds (76%) of them feel they have been personally impacted by such a skills gap, finds the 2019-2020 Global Skills Gap Report by global e-learning company Udemy.
Indian workforce reported the highest skills gap after Brazil, where 94% employees admitted to a skills mismatch.
On an average, 83% of employees worldwide believe there is a skills gap.
