Sluggish Kashmir University website angers students
Srinagar, Sep 23: The official website of University of Kashmir has slowed down to snail’s pace causing heavy inconvenience to students and faculty alike. The university website www.kashmiruniversity.net is responding very slowly since yesterday and the university’s IT Cell seems sleeping over the issue. Many complaints received by CNS over phone and social media suggested that the website is hardly responding on high speed broadband connections, leave alone the usual 2G speeds that are available to majority of the students.
A Post-Graduate student from the varsity complained to CNS that he needed to download some e-tutorials for his upcoming examination from the website, but has failed to do so with the sluggish server speeds coupled with the frustrating 2G internet. “I gave up on the idea of downloading material after it successfully wasted hours from my time”, he rued.
Fee payments, results, entrance answer keys, study materials and other important notifications are all accessible through this portal only, but the sluggish server speed is making it very cumbersome for the students. Despite repeated attempts to contact university officials, they weren’t available to comment. (CNS)
