Advocate M I Zargar Patnavi, the Director General of the National Human Rights Social Justice Council of India, expressed deep shock over the loss of lives in boat capsize incident in Batwara area of Srinagar district.
In the Press Release Advocate Zargar Patnavi said I express deepest condolences to the bereaved families. He urged upon the administration to extend all possible help to the victim families.
Advocate Zargar Patnavi said this incident is heartbroken for whole Country۔ ۔He said this tragedy struck in the Gandbal Nowgam area during persistent rainfall, raising water levels. Witnesses mentioned a snapped steering rope due to strong currents.
Advocate Zargar Patnavi said ” Locals alleged that the incident was due to the absence of bridge in the locality.”We have been promised high and tall but unfortunately nobody bothered to ensure a bridge in the locality. Today’s tragedy is because of the absence of a bridge,” the locals said.
