After losing mother, two minor kids with ailing father struggle to survive

Ganderbal, Mar 31: Hussein Khatana survived by two minor kids, a son and a daughter was the sole earner in the family before he lost his ability after a major fracture some10 years ago.However, the agony didn’t end for Khatana, soon he lost his wife leaving behind the two minor kids.Khatana is now confined to his mud house at Anderwan village on the hills of district Ganderbal.The caretaking of kids has put an extra burden on the shoulders of Khatana, who is not in a position to take care of himself.”I along with my two minor kids often sleep without food,” he said.A local Qayoom Khatana said that the administration should identify such people and help them out.The people living in the neighborhood of Hussein Khatana frequently provided a little bit of financial help to the family, however, it is not enough to care for the family,” he said.”Centre government has floated various schemes for such people including golden cards for medical treatment and rehabilitation policies for homeless and needy but after witnessing the condition of people like Hussein Khatana these schemes seem to be only on documents and walls,” he said—(KNO)a
