December 4:Unknown gunmen fired upon one District development council candidate during the 3rd phase of DDC elections in Jammu Kashmir in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a DDC candidate identified as Anees ul ul Islam of Apni party was fired upon by suspected Militants in the Sagam area of South Kashmir’s Kokernag area, injuring him critically.
Anees was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that he has sustained two gunshots, but is stable and has been shifted to the District hospital in Anantnag.
