Police file charge sheet against 3 ‘militant associates’
Ganderbal, Apr 28, KNT: Police here in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district filed a charge sheet against militant associates allegedly involved in the Nunnar attack.
Pertinently, last year on 6 October, militants carried out an attack on BJP District Vice President at his native village Nunner Ganderbal.
Militants fired upon the protected person, however, the PSOs quickly retaliated back resulting in the on-spot death of one militant namely Shabir Ahmad Shah of Jangalnar Awantipora.
During the brief exchange of fire, one PSO Constable Altaf Hussain also got seriously injured and later succumbed to injuries. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the slain militants.
Policer as per news agency Kashmir News Trust subsequently filed an FIR under relevant sections at Police Station Ganderbal.
Police said that during the course of the investigation, three active associates of banned outfit Hizbul Mujahadeen namely Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, Aasif Khazir Mir residents of Serch Ganderbal, and Hilal Ahmad Mir of Burnbugh Kangan were arrested in the instant case, as all three were part of criminal conspiracy and worked as OGWs with the banned outfit HM in carrying out an attack on the said BJP leader. Arms/ammunition, detonators, Pakistan flags were recovered on their disclosures, and the investigation concluded.
“After obtaining the sanction of prosecution from the Government of J&K, Challan against the three accused persons was produced before the Competent Hon’ble court of law for its judicial determination,” police said. (KNT)
