Baramulla, October 04: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today inaugurates several developmental works which include public park and other projects as part of ongoing 3rd phase of ambitious ‘Back to Village’ programme in Harinar village of Singhpora Block of the district. DC also carried out several other social and developmental activities meant for the overall welfare of the village.
On the occasion, a Gram Sabha was presided over by the DC during which the PRIs and other stakeholders highlighted several demands and grievances pertaining to the availability of drinking water, hassle free power supply, macadimization of roads, better infrastructure in health, education and other vital sectors. The DC gave a patient hearing of the issues and demands during which he on spot issued directions to the concerned officers for their redressel.
Dr Itoo also highlighted the aims and objectives of back to village campaign and said that the programme aims to listen the issues and demands of the people at their doorsteps. He also urged the people to cooperate and participate in such activities and informed that all the basic necessities including potable drinking water, uninterrupted power supply shall be provided smoothly adding that under the centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission, drinking water is being provided to every rural household.
Meanwhile, ACD Baramulla Yar Ali Khan presented a detailed position and progress of various developmental works undertaken in RDD sector during which he informed that several works have already been completed whereas several others are in different phases of completion
The people highly appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude of the DC in particular and of the administration in general for conducting the reach out programme.
