CBI arrests JMC’s lady supervisor for accepting bribe

JAMMU: The sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday trapped and arrested one lady supervisor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for demanding and accepting bribes.

“A complaint was lodged with the CBI that one Sanitary Supervisor namely Shahzadi Gill of Jammu Municipal Corporation was demanding a bribe of Rs 5000 to reinstate the complainant as he was working under her supervision,” a CBI official said.

He said that acting on a complaint, a trap was laid on Friday morning and the lady supervisor was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe.

“Searches were also conducted at JMC and at the residence of the supervisor at Residency Road,” he said. The official said that a case was registered and investigations is in progress.
