Budgam, 14th February 2023 Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance, mobile phone & cash from his possession.
During Naka checking at Poshker Khag chowk, one TATA Sumo bearing registration number JK01K-3772 was signalled to stop but driver tried to flee from the spot, however alert Police party chased him & stopped the sumo along with driver tactfully.
During questioning, the said driver disclosed his name as Shabir Ahmad Wani @ Shabir Dalwash S/o Mohmmad Abdullah Wani R/o Dalwash. During search, 60 Grams of charas like substance ,one vivo mobile phone & cash Rs 19000/= was recovered from his possession. The drug peddler was arrested on spot and vehicle used for commission of crime has also been seized.
Case FIR number 09/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Khag & investigation taken up.
