Poonch // Shri Krishan Chander Govt. Degree College Poonch organised series of activities in connection with the celebration of UT Foundation Day on the theme: “Badalta Jammu Kashmir: Aman aur Taraqqi Ki Nayi Tasveer”. The activities were organised under the supervision of Dr. Jasbir Singh the Principal of the college.
1st activity was an Intra-college Essay Writing Competition in which 28 students from different streams and semesters participated. 1st Prize in the essay Wring competition was fetched by Miss Anjum Firdose of Semester 5th whereas 2nd Prize was given to Mussarit Nayeem of Semester 3rd and 3rd Prize was jointly shared by Shreeya Sharma of Semester 5th and Shritika Dabur of Semester 1st respectively and Gursheen Kour of Semester 1st was given consolation Prize. The event was conducted and evaluated by Dr. Zakir Hussain Kalis HOD English.
The 2nd activity was Painting competition in which eleven students of the college participated. The competition held in the department of Zoology. Dr Shamim Banday and Dr Tabassum Naz organised the event. After thorough evaluation of the paintings Sabah Jalal of Sem 1st bagged position, Zoiya Mangral of Sem. 1st secured second position and Rabia Niaz of Sem. 3rd fetched third position respectively.
The 3rd activity was Videography competition organised by Prof. Mohammed Jahangir Department of Urdu. The participants were given sufficient time to click 3 minutes videos pertaining to the theme. Videography Session coducted in B.C.A Hall in which 8 Students participated. Mr. Wajahid Hussain Shah of Sem. 5th Stood First, Saim Ahmed Mughal of Sem. 1st Secured 2nd position while Tayab Bilal of Sem. 1st was placed at 3rd position respectively.
The 4th and final activity was Photography competition in which 20 Students participated. The event was organised by Prof. Shehzad Banday and Dr. Yougesh Kumar in the Department of Geography. The Jury members in the event were Dr. Altaf Hussain, Prof. Mohammed Jahangir and Prof. Nusrat Koser. In the event the 1st Position was secured by Mr. Masoof Ahmed of Semester 1st whereas Mr Bilal Ahmed student of Semester 1st bagged 2nd Position and Mr. Kamran Fareed of Semester 3rd was adjudged as 3rd Position respectively.
It is pertinent to mention that the 1st Position holders in each of the event shall also participate in Inter-Collegiate District Level Competition on 27th October 2023 and the winner of the District level shall be sent to Govt. College for Women Parade Jammu for Divisional Level Competitions.
