Srinagar, 25 AprilA gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in village in Nowpora area Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday evening.
Reports said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Jammu, and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation in Pethseer area of Sopore after having credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When the last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
