Illicit Timber Siezed In Kangan

Ganderbal: A large quantity of illicit timber was siezed in Kangan Ganderbal district on Thursday morning.

Sources said that a four wheeler Tata sumo vehicle without number plate on its way to Kangan was siezed by a forest check post at Kachpora.

A large quantity of illegally cut timber was recovered from the siezed vehicle sources added.

An official said that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion. He said the vehicle was confiscated by the Forest Department employees. However, the driver of the sumo vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
