Provincial Secretary Apni Party Umer Jaan Demands Urgent Action Top of Form
Srinagar/23 Jan :Senior leader apni party Provincial Secretary Kashmir Apni Party Umer Jaan has requested LG administration and district administration especially DC Pulwama dr Basharat Qayoom to take immedial remedial measures to streamline the online verification of ration cards and issuance of new ration cards for people.
Jaan said that the current biometric verification of ration card holders is plagued with irregularities. He said that the people of APL category and even well off persons are in possession of BPL cards. They are being verified and provided BPL cards without any background check. This often creates scarcity of ration for the deserving people of BPL category. He said that the administration needs to immediately put in place a monitoring mechanism so that BPL ration card is given to only deserving poor people.
Secondly he said that getting a new reason card has become a headache for people. One has to move from place to place and office to office to get a new ration card. The administration needs to put in place a mechanism so that new ration cards are allotted to people according to their category without any hassles. He appealed the administration to take people friendly approach in the distribution of ration cards and ensure only deserving people get the benefits and non deserving people are weeded out.
