Kupwara May 08: The residents of Mawer Qalamabad villages in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have been left to lurch due to the non-adherence of their complaints about the defunct Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of J&K bank. The local alleged that the bank manager is not bothered to rectify the technical snags as a result people are suffering a lot.
Talking to the locals said that the ATM is lying defunct in this holy month and they brought the matter to the notice of Branch head Qalamabad but unfortunately, no action has been taken as yet.
“The bank authorities seem least bothered to rectify the technical snag as a result people are not able to withdraw cash. We are made to suffer,” locals allege
They said that people have to travel around 10 kilometers all the way from Mawer to main Qalamabad to withdraw cash from an ATM.
The locals urged the higher authorities to improve the ATM service in the area and restore the defunct ATM so that people don’t have to suffer anymore.
