Nidae KashmirKulgam : July 08, 2023 District Kulgam police is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, yesterday at about 1820 hours; police party headed by SHO police station Qazigund established a checkpoint (Naka) at Shampora Crossing and during checking two suspected persons who were later identified as:- Khalid Mohammad S/O Bashir Ahmad Itoo R/O Kurigam and Balvinder Singh S/O Soran Singh R/O Behri Gurdaspora, Punjab carrying two nylon bags were intercepted, who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. They were chased and apprehended tactfully and shifted to police station Qazigund where they remains in police custody. After checking, officers present were able to recover 05 Kg of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in the said nylon bags.
