Lady jumps into river Jhelum in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 04 :- Unknown lady on Saturday allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum in summer capital Srinagar.

According to eyewitnesses, the lady jumped into the river Jhelum at Budshah Bridge Srinagar and soon after a rescue operation was launched to fish out th body.

Confirming the incident, a police official told the Kashmir scroll that massive rescue operation has been launched to fish out the lady

He said the police are verifying the incident why this lady took this extreme step to end her life and her identification is being ascertained.

Meanwhile, when this report was filed the rescue operation to trace the lady was still on.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation in this regard has been taken up, the officer added. (KS)
