These days, to keep the protection of self or to fight with any kind of harsh situation, the self-defense training martial art has immense significance for both boys and girls.
A 25-yr old boy, Jan Mohammad Dar knew as JD Arahan, hailing from North Kashmir’s Check-Sari – Pattan area of Baramulla district, has acquired 4 Gold medals in the field of Martial Art.
Dar has acquired several medals by taking part in competitions on national and local levels.
“Since childhood, I have been watching action movies through which my fondness rose towards martial art. In 2009 I went to Nagaland where I got training”, said JD.
“In 2014 I took part in the national-level competition of WAKO kickboxing in which I won a Gold medal, later in 2016 to 18 I received three more medals”, he said.
JD, on the other hand, is equally proud of his father, who despite odds provided all possible facilities and support to his son.
“Besides my father, the whole family has been very supportive throughout my journey. Sportsmanship has been running in my blood,” says Dar.
JD is running a self-defense academy in Pattan, he has trained various boys and girls, some of them have participated in national level martial art competitions, and some become trainers. (Shahbaz Malik)
