50 vehicles blacklisted, 33500 thousand rupees fine slashed for traffic violations, overcharging and wrong parking

Adminstation appeals people to avail the parking facility for the convenience of all

Pulwama,18 November : Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Rahgav Langer, Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Pulwama today conducted vehicle checking drive in the Pulwama Town wherein scores of vehicles were checked during late evening Hours
The drive was conducted in view of repeated complaints pouring from the locals regarding traffic jams in late evening hours causing huge inconvenience to the visitors and locals .
The team was led by ARTO, Muazzam Ali , Naib Tehsildar Pulwama and EO Municipality Pulwama .The officials checked hundreds of vehicles during the post dusk hours for Violation of traffic rules, wrong parking, abondanment of vehicles on roads, Over Speeding,use of mobile phones while driving, Rash Driving, using beam lights and other offences.
During the drive, scores of vehicles were Challaned and an amount of rupees 33500 was recovered from offenders under various section of Motor Vehicles act whereas 50 vehicles were also black listed.
While sensitising the drivers regarding traffic rules, ARTO said that there shall be zero tolerance against violation of traffic rules and wrong parking.He also said that ample parking space has been provided for the safety of vehicles besides decongesting the town.
He added that traffic violation leads to road accidents and kills hundreds of people on daily basis. He said adherence to laws can avert most of the road accidents besides making commutation hassle free.
ARTO added that use of mobile phones , stunting ,use of beams during night and non use of seat belts are common offences which can be easily avoided. He urged upon the drivers to be mindful of duties and responsibilities while driving and having self restraint in speeding limits is a way forward towards changing driving behaviours.
