Poonch//NSS Unit of Shri Krishan Chander Govt. Degree College Poonch organizes series of activities in context with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’under the supervision of Dr. Jasbir Singh Principal of the college. As the entire nation is celebrating the National festival with great enthusiasm and curiosity and series of activities are being organized across the country and Degree College Poonch is never leading behind.
Degree College Poonch is organizing weeklong activities in connection with Independence Day celebration 2023. On August 05 as part of series of program being organized under the banner of “Meri Mati Mera Desh” nationwide Campaign and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the NSS an NCC units of SKC Govt. Degree College Poonch, organized Panch Pran Pledge taking Ceremony to highlight the five resolves of Prime Minister Shri Narinder Modi Ji during the Independence day. All the teaching and non teaching staff, students, NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets, participated in the pledge ceremony. Ms Anamika Bali read out the pledge.
NSS Unit of the College in collaboration with NCC Wing and Physical Education Department also organizes an Essay writing Competition on the topic “Role of Freedom Fighters in India’s Independence” for celebrating “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on August 09 2023 in which 12 students of Semester 5th participated. Ms Anjum Firdose fetched 1st Prize and Ms Shreeya Sharma bagged 2nd Prize. The 3rd Prize was jointly won by Ms Nazneen Saqib and Shazia Koser.
A Singing Competition of National Anthem was also organized in the college auditorium in which 8 participants belonging to different streams and semesters participated. The session was presided over by the Principal of our college, Dr. Jasbir Singh. The performance of the participants was evaluated by Dr. Zakir Hussain Kalis, Dr. Loveleen Kaur Kesar and Mr Mukesh Kumar.
The participants who were crowned as winner were Ms Sumaira Naz and Mr. Shahid of 5th Semester got 1st position, Ms. Shazia Kouser got 2nd position and Ms. Abru Aziz got 3rd position respectively.
