BANDIPORA, MARCH 26: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir today imposed a fine of Rs 49,000 on 14 erring traders for violation of various provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act (FS&SA) in the district.
The fine was imposed on the erring traders during the proceeding of cases related to the Food Safety and standards listed before ADC Bandipora who is also the Adjudicating Officer.
During the proceeding, ADC also warned the erring traders to abide by the legal regulations adding that non compliance of the Food Safety and Standards Act by Food Business offenders will be dealt strictly.
Taking strong note of the complaints of over-pricing, the district administration has launched a massive district-wide inspection drive to curb over pricing and take immediate action against instances of violations.
The Adjudicating Officer directed all the concerned officers to ensure regular inspections of markets falling within their respective jurisdiction and take strict action against those indulging in overpricing and other malpractices.
Among others, Food Safety Officer besides others concerned were present during the proceedings.
