Pulwama, NK news Sep 28: Two Lashkar-i-Toiba militants were killed and an Army soldier injured on Sunday in a gunfight at Samboora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official sources told that two militants have been killed in an operation, however, the militant has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Resident of Samboora Kakapora and Sajad Ahmad Resident of Padgampora Awantipora District.
Officials said two AK rifles along with four magazines, 10 rounds of bullets, and two pouches with personal items have been recovered from the militants.
Official sources further told that one Army soldier received a minor injury in the foot, subsequently, he was shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
Earlier, As per the reports received a joint team of Police, Army’s 50RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Samboora after receiving specific information.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, triggering off an encounter. (Nida e Kashmir news)
