Sopore Police arrested drug peddler and recovered Psychotropic substances

Sopore,10 Feb : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police has arrested one drug peddler and recovered Psychotropic substances from his possession.

A police party headed by SHO police station Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS during patrolling at Baghat Butpora Sopore, apprehended one drug peddler in a suspicious moment carrying a polythene bag in his hand identified as Aijaz Ahmad Najar S/O Ghulam Din Najar R/O Mumkak Butpora Sopore. During his search, party was able to recover 100 ml 13 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession.

He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, case FIR No. 29 of 2024 under 8/21 section of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.

Sopore police urged thecommon masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112.

General public requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
