Sumbal Police busts racket ferrying rice meant for mid day meals

School Principal terms allegations baseless

Sumbal, Oct 17: In a shocking incident about 20 quintals of rice meant for midday meals at Middle School Sumbal were recovered from a TATA Mobile vehicle, which was seized by Sumbal police in the premises of Middle School.
According to the eyewitnesses, the rice meant for midday meals was transferred from school illegally and the attempt was thwarted by police.
Meanwhile, the Principal of the Middle School denied the charges and said, “ we were cleaning the school and only for time being, the said rice was transferred to a safe location to store it till school was cleaned completely.
However, the police have raided a few locations in connection with the black marketing of the rice.
Till the reports were filed in, the investigation was going on.
