Sopore, 16 April 2024:
In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested one bottleger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC PP Fruit Mandi PSI Irfan Nazir under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad, at a checkpoint at Mazbugh intercepted one two wheeler LML Bajaj Vispa bearing registration number JK05-1255
During the search of the said two wheeler 25 bottles of illicit liquor
- Old Adventure 15 Bottels 750ml
- Black Bull 10 Bottels 750ml were recovered.
On preliminary verification driver disclosed his identity as Sohan Lal S/O Desh Raj R/O Mohalla Arjunpora Gurdaspur Punjab.
In this connection, case under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
